I want one for Windows 98 gaming + MIDI. Everything needs to work, have an HD, power adapter, etc. Preferably PIII-P4 era. Thanks!

I have like four but they all have things wrong like busted motherboards or power supplies.

If you had asked me a few months ago I would've had 2 or 3. I recently dumped a lot of these old laptops.

Don't hold out hope, I have to test 98 first. Given my schedule...no idea when I could get it to you.
Hell, come to think of it, I haven't fired it up in months. It was built for XP, so I believe 98 will work fine. But...
Additionally, the battery has a lifespan similar to the DeltaWing, so don't expect anything more than an easily mobile, small desktop PC.

If you asked me a year ago, I could have gotten you 15. Now, I can't :(

Wait...Why?
As a computer guy as well as a car guy, I'm trying to figure out what you are up to...and am coming up blank.
What is an oldass thinkpad going to do for you that a newish computer wouldn't?
(Your post is awfully specific is why I'm asking. If you're just looking for a Win98 era computer for cheap/free, gotcha, but specifically a P3 ThinkPad running Win98?)

Too bad I sent mine to a homeless guy in California. Was a great little box too!

Because they're fucking tanks and easy to find drivers for. And I prefer ThinkPads anyways. They always have some quirky features and they'll never have stripped hardware.

Bad news/good news
The ones I was thinking of are not going to work. The reason being is that apparently we pitched all of the power cables a long while ago.
The good...ish...news I have is that I have a very old Thinkpad tablet that I no longer use. I just have no idea about whether or not it'll run Windows 98, as it can run Windows 7 okay, and driver issues and so forth. It's going to be a while before I can check.
Also; you're right about Lenovos. If there's ever a nuclear war, cockroaches will be sending email to their friends on Lenovo computers.

It's okay... someone on the ThinkPad forums has a really nice machine for $40
